In an attempt to have a larger client base, I often compromise my ‘ideal client’ criteria and end up with non-ideal clients in my practice, or doing projects that don’t fit squarely with my expertise.
I tend to allow non-ideal clients to stay in my practice, even if I feel drained and weary when working on their accounts.
When I meet a prospective client who is not a fit for me or I’ve outgrown a current client, I trust at there are plenty of my ideal clients waiting for me to find them, and I refer the non-ideal client an advisor who I know will be delighted to serve them.

I have criteria for determining which are the highest impact actions that will move my business/practice/idea forward. Then, I take daily action to accomplish those tasks.

As I move through my work day/week/year, I tend to do whatever is the next thing that needs to be done.

My office space would best be described as:

Uncluttered, containing only the items that I use regularly or that I love.
Somewhat messy, but I know where everything is.
After I take this assessment, I will print it, put it in a pile on my desk, and probably will have trouble finding it when I'm ready to get focused and take action on my Big Idea.

It is common for me to:

Marvel at how lucky I am to be doing what I do.
Feel weary and ‘tapped’ at the tasks/projects I have to do.
Wonder what it’d be like if I were doing something else.

I have systems/habits that work, and if it ain’t broke....
I wonder if I’m being as efficient, effective, and focused as I could be, but I have no idea what I’d change.
I regularly re-evaluate my systems/habits and am willing to question whether I’m doing something because I’ve always done it that way, or whether I’m intentionally choosing to do it that way because I think it serves me and my business best.

A ‘Dabbler’ (Enthusiastically embracing a new idea/venture/practice, but I become disenchanted after the “newness” wears off)
An ‘Obsessive’ (Pushing relentlessly; bottom-line person; doesn’t matter how I get the results, but I get them fast).
A ‘Hacker’ (I do enough to get by; I always show up at the right time and do the right thing, but am comfortable not pushing into the uncertainties of the outside world ).

When I decide to try to master something new, I tend to:

Live for the surge of when I’m in the deep learning curve of a new aspect of it.
I love the surge, but am also patient with time in between surges when it seems I’m just practicing for the sake of practicing.
I love practicing; the surge of a steep learning curve can make me nervous and uncomfortable.
